Police Foundations Student Puts Training into Action at Co-op with City of Hamilton
What does industry‑led learning look like in action?
Meet Bhavdeep, a Mohawk College Police Foundations student who took his classroom training into the community through a full‑time co‑op with the City of Hamilton’s Licensing and Bylaw Services.
From investigating graffiti reports—including urgent hate‑motivated cases—to speaking with property owners and managing challenging conversations, Bhavdeep gained a firsthand look at frontline public safety work.
His co‑op became a powerful example of how industry‑led learning prepares students for real responsibilities in municipal enforcement, “Handling those situations better than I thought I could… it gave me more confidence.” Watch Bhavdeep's story on YouTube.
