Save the date October 13th and 14th for GIFT 2021: Student Success through an EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Lens !

CTL is pleased to announce that the Great Ideas for Teaching (GIFT) event is back. On October 13th and 14th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm we invite you to join us virtually to explore a variety of teaching and learning strategies. We are thrilled to announce renowned Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI), & Anti-Racism strategist, Gerard Etienne will speak on October 13th. Maxine Carter will join us on October 14th to speak about Mohawk College’s EDI Action Plan and making excellence inclusive. Please save the dates in your calendars, now!!!!! The schedule of sessions and registration will be available on October 6th..

This year GIFT focuses on Student Success through an EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Lens. As we strive at Mohawk for optimal equity and inclusion for all of our diverse learners, we want to hear about your great ideas for teaching and learning that contribute to these goals. Perhaps you make conscious efforts to ensure your learners feel included in your classroom, teach about issues relating to equity and diversity, or design curriculum and assessments that are equitable to, and inclusive of all learners.

GIFT 2021 Call for Proposals

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please fill out this form and submit by 5pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2021. We are looking for 30 or 50 minute synchronous sessions on both October 13th and 14th as well as a variety of asynchronous learning experiences for participants to engage with at their leisure.
