Skills Ontario recognizes Mohawk

Acknowledges long-standing partnership with college

Skills Ontario honoured Mohawk College's long-standing partnership with the presentation of special recognition scroll as part of the organization's 30th Anniversary celebrations. Mohawk College has worked closely with Skills Ontario for many years to encourage youth to pursue careers in the trades, including organizing skills summer camps in cooperation with Skills Ontario. The college is also an active participant in Skills Ontario's annual competition with many students winning medals and going on to compete in national and international championships. Mohawk faculty are also strong supporters of the program, including recent Mohawk Award of Excellence recipient Richard Dupp who recently returned from the 2019 World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia.

Pictured with the scroll are Dean of Skilled Trades and Apprenticeships, Wayne Ostermaier and Amy Petsche, Operations Coordinator at the Marshall School of Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship.
