As social media and smartphones continue to shape the experiences of young people, we face new challenges related to mental health, online safety, and digital wellbeing. This engaging session will examine:

  • The impact of social media on youth development and mental health

  • The culture of comparison and its effects on well-being

  • Legal issues surrounding online behaviour and when it can become criminal

  • Current trends, including lawsuits, settlements, and emerging social media age restrictions

  • Practical tools and strategies to support youth and families in building healthier digital habits

Margot Denomme, founder of Raising Awareness About Digital Dangers (RAADD), brings more than 26 years of experience as a former Crown Counsel, children's advocate, educator, and parent. Through her work, she helps communities better understand the mental, physical, and legal impacts of technology on young people.

Educators, parents, students, community partners, and members of the public who are interested in supporting youth in today's digital world are welcome to attend.
