For her outstanding contributions to the Student Recruitment team, Jenny Hall is a Mohawk College Everyday Hero. Jenny has been a valuable member of our team from the first day she joined the team. Her dedication and commitment to helping students and her colleagues is exceptional. She is always willing to jump in and help with anything and everything the team needs, she never complains and is always eager to help. Her willingness to go beyond her role and comfort zone is an inspiration to her colleagues. Jenny is also a great team player, always contributing to group conversations and providing suggestions on how to improve the services we offer to better support students. Her positive attitude and strong connection with students makes them feel comfortable, supported and cared for. Jenny is patient. She is also kind, considerate, and willing to help anyone. No matter how complex or frustrating the problem is, Jenny will work to solve it and help put a student’s mind at ease. Jenny is committed to our students, and her warm-hearted nature is reflected in the support she provides to them.

For their passion and dedication to supporting international students throughout their journey the International Market Specialist Team are Mohawk College Everyday Heroes. The International Market Specialist team is a dynamic group of individuals who are passionate about Mohawk College and supporting international students achieve their educational goals to study in Canada. Many are former international students, immigrants, and new citizens themselves, giving them a unique understanding of the challenges, students, families and partners face when pursuing studies, and moving their lives, around the world. The team often goes above and beyond to support students outside traditional business hours. They help create social connections with other expat students, ensuring students feel welcomed and supported. The team also works within their communities as volunteers and advocates. Always trying to find ways to connect and give back to their communities both personally and professionally. Most recently a member of the team led efforts to mobilize support for the Ukraine, sending supplies overseas with the local community centre. Many times, their activities go unnoticed or unacknowledged, because it is just what they do – without being asked. But these actions are the ones that are most impactful, and resonate the most here in Hamilton and oversees.
